There are some songs that are just good, even years after they have been released. It brings impact in our hearts that we can never forget especially songs from the past. Old time favorite songs and music never fades away. When I was still a kid, there are some songs that I can still hear these days and still popular. How can this songs be so popular especially artist from the past? Maybe because of the lines or the message of the songs that can’t be resist by the listeners. In the dictionary, oldies but goodies is define as something (or even someone) that is old but still likable. The term, “oldies,” refers to both popular music from the 1950s-1970s and the radio format that specializes in this type of music. Oldies songs are typically from the R&B, pop and rock music genres but may also include country, movie soundtrack, novelty, and other types of popular music played on the radio from around 1950-on.
The oldies but goodies music can still be heard in the music industry especially songs from the popular singers and bands, and one of them is The Beatles. The ever popular Beatles is an English rock band, active throughout the 1960s and one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed acts in the history of popular music. The Beatles are the best-selling band in history, and over four decades after their break-up, their recordings are still in demand. The Beatles’ influence on popular culture was and remains immense. Their musical innovations, as well as their commercial success, inspired musicians worldwide. The Beatles changed the way people listened to popular music and experienced its role in their lives.
The phrase ‘Oldies but Goodies’ was first referring to songs from the past and this group is one of them. The 60′s or even the 80′s songs may be old but they are still good. Whether because of a genuine love for good music, the oldies format has maintained a huge following and will probably continue to do so for many years to come, maybe music can help one feel younger and happier.
