Lately, I got interested with Kokeshi Dolls and later found myself surfing for Geisha. I planned to watch Memoirs of Geisha but decided to check first the trailer at Youtube. While hitting on the related videos, I bumped on to Hua Mulan 2009 trailer. As a big fan of the Disney’s Animated Mulan 1998, I decided to watch this first instead of Memoirs of Geisha.

Guess what? I’m not disappointed at all. Zhao Wei did such a great job on acting. And the story all in all is good. To my surprise, the story line is a whole different from the animated one. Disney’s story has a light content, a movie that would make you smile every time you think about it. Hua Mulan on the other hand is the complete opposite. The movie is rich with mixed emotions and I would say probably, heavy drama. It shows different feelings planted and left on the battlefield.

For those who want to see good choreography and detailed actions, this movie might not be for you. Compared to Zhang Ziyi’s House of Flying Daggers or other Asian Kung Fu movies, Hua Mulan probably ranks lower. But the movie is not contoured toward Kung Fu and swordsmanship tactics but fighting in the battlefield with spears and swords on the middle of a battalion of army. But if you are a softhearted woman like me, the movie would leave a mark in your heart.

I’d rather not talk about the plot. I didn’t read the synopsis at all that’s why the movie gave me a lot of surprises. As what I said, all in all, the movie is good. It’s running 65% on Rotten Tomatoes and rates 6.4 at IMDb. It’s above average, but for me I’ll give it 4.5 out of 5. Though Zhao Wei is a really good actress, I wish she changed her voice’s tone a little bit to more of a man’s. But other than that, I’m impressed. Oh Well!! I’m a Free loader so I get what I am supposed to get… My server was down for days… And I do have some SPs… and that means that the payments were held… I want to move to a new host, but I’m pretty bad in moving… My files were all lost before and I don’t want it to happen again… Also, usually when you sign-up for a new host, you will also get a new domain… Obviously, I can’t get a free domain name if I’ll just transfer my old site to a new host… Oh well.. My site is up and running now… but all the posts lost their tags and categories.. And I am freekin’ mad… >.< That would mean I have to redo all of them again.... >.<

Anyways... I think my EEE atom 1008HA is dying.. Yes! I regretted it for not trying to take care of my atom.. It fell hundred times already.. I just noticed it now… it has a cracked on the monitor so it’s affecting the LCD… resulting in a block-out screen… I’m not sure if I will get a new a new atom if my current one will completely die… I have a laptop that is barely used and I’m planning to get the 8.9 Samsung Galaxy Tab when it’s released.. So buying another atom would be not so necessary… will see…

As what I blogged before, I just started watching Bleaching.. Finally, I’m being close to catching up.. Just finished the Zanpakotou arc… can’t wait to see the Vizards fight on the next episodes…
